What if it rains or there's bad weather?

We have a saying here in Florida, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minuets”….So, we fish rain or shine – however we want everyone to be safe.

In the event that Captain Jackson chooses to cancel your fishing charter due to poor weather or other conditions which might make your trip unsafe, he’ll do his best to reschedule your charter to another day/time.

*If for travel or other reasons you are unable to reschedule with us, you’ll receive a 100% refund for any amounts already paid.

Where do we meet for our charter?

For all of our fishing and scalloping charters, Capt. Jackson will meet you at the dock at the following location:

Shrimp Landing Marina
12645 West Fort Island Trail
Crystal River, FL 34429

Absolutely, however harvesting different fish species may be seasonal – so ask your Captain which fish can be kept at the time of your charter.

Capt. Jackson will clean your fish and even recommend restaurants that will cook your fresh catch for you!

*If you plan to keep fish, remember to bring a cooler (that you leave in your car) to transport your catch home once your charter ends.

Are we allowed to tip the Captain?
Absolutely! Your Capt. Jackson works his tail off to provide his guests with the best fishing & scalloping experiences possible.

Customarily, gratuities for a Captain are 20%+ of the cost of your charter.

Nope!

Capt. Jackson will provide all of the licenses and permits you’ll need for your fishing or scalloping charter and are included in the cost of your trip.

Yes. Capt. Jackson even provides an iced-down cooler to keep your drinks chilly!

We only ask that you drink responsibly and LEAVE the glass containers/bottles at home.

Testimonials From Our Guests!

A few buddies and I booked a gag grouper trip with Captain Jackson Dean this this past November and had an absolute stellar time. Very knowledgeable about his fishery and the best part was catching grouper until our arms just about fell off. 10/10 trip and highly recommend him for anyone looking to fish crystal river whether it’s inshore or nearshore.

Can’t speak highly enough of Capt Jackson! Took our first trip family trip with him Grouper fishing in December and had so much fun we booked another trip before the end of the month. Both trips were awesome, we keep tight lines and filled with great conversations about fishing and anything. We will definitely be booking trips for years to come!
